In 2018, my friend invited me to create illustrations for his book. This book is about his life during his mandatory military service in Mazu, the small outlying islands of Taiwan. Because of this mission, I took the plane to Mazu to collect references there. This book is printed in black and white, so I chose pencil as my medium.
